From Raw Earth to Refined Surface
Every Rocagress tile passes through 5 precision stages before it earns a place in your space. Discover the molecular transformations that create indestructible architecture-grade slabware.
Raw Material Selection
Premium clays, feldspars, and silica are sourced and tested for purity before entering production. Only materials that meet our density and consistency standards move forward.
Hydraulic Pressing
High-tonnage hydraulic presses compress raw materials into dense, uniform tile bodies. This stage determines the structural strength and dimensional accuracy of every tile.
Design Application
HD inkjet printers apply true-to-life surface patterns including marble veins, stone textures, and wood grains with up to 400 DPI precision across the full tile surface.
Kiln Firing at 1,220°C
Continuous roller kilns fire each tile at over 1,220 degrees Celsius for 50 or more minutes, vitrifying the body for near-zero porosity, maximum strength, and long term durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between porcelain tile and ceramic tile?
Porcelain tile is made from denser clay and fired at higher temperatures, giving it lower water absorption (under 0.5%) and greater durability. Ceramic tile is lighter, easier to cut, and better suited for interior walls and low-traffic floors. If your project involves outdoor areas, high foot traffic, or wet spaces like bathrooms and kitchens, porcelain is the stronger choice.
What are porcelain slabs and where are they used?
Porcelain slabs are large format porcelain surfaces typically ranging from 800x2400mm to 1200x2800mm. They are used for kitchen countertops, bathroom walls, feature walls, facades, and flooring where minimal grout lines and a seamless look are required. They offer the appearance of natural stone without maintenance.
What is sintered stone and how is it different from porcelain?
Sintered stone is an engineered surface created by applying extreme heat and pressure to natural minerals, producing a near-zero porosity slab. It is harder, thinner, and more heat-resistant than standard porcelain, making it ideal for kitchen countertops, outdoor cladding, and high-end commercial surfaces. Rocagres carries both sintered stone slabs and luxury sintered stone collections.
Which tile finish is best for bathrooms?
Matte and textured finishes are recommended for bathroom floors because they provide slip resistance when wet. Glossy and PGVT finishes work well on bathroom walls where light reflection and easy cleaning are priorities. For a complete bathroom, many designers combine a matte floor tile with a glossy wall tile from the same collection.
What size tile is best for a living room floor?
Large format tiles such as 800x1600mm and 1200x1800mm are the most popular choice for living rooms in the US because they create fewer grout lines, make spaces feel larger, and are easier to maintain. For smaller living areas, 600x1200mm offers the same visual benefit in a more manageable format.
Do you supply tiles for commercial projects?
Yes. Rocagres supplies porcelain tile, vitrified tile, and sintered stone surfaces for a wide range of commercial projects including offices, retail stores, hotels, restaurants, multifamily residential buildings, and hospitality spaces. We work directly with architects, interior designers, general contractors, and wholesale tile buyers across the United States.
Are Rocagres tiles available in the United States?
Yes. Rocagres operates a stocking facility in North Brunswick, New Jersey, allowing us to supply tiles to US-based projects with shorter lead times. We serve homeowners, architects, contractors, and wholesale buyers across the country.
How do I calculate how many tiles I need for my project?
Measure the total square footage of the area you want to tile by multiplying the length by the width. Add 10% to that number to account for cuts, waste, and breakage. For large format tiles or diagonal patterns, add 15% instead. Our team can help you calculate quantities for your specific project if you reach out through our inquiry form
What is the difference between matte and glossy tile finishes?
Matte tiles have a low sheen surface that hides dust, fingerprints, and scratches, making them practical for floors and high-traffic areas. Glossy tiles reflect light and create a bright, open feel, making them ideal for walls, backsplashes, and smaller rooms. Neither is universally better; the right choice depends on the space and how it is used
Do you offer wholesale pricing for bulk tile orders?
Yes. Rocagres offers wholesale pricing for contractors, builders, architects, tile distributors, and project developers. Whether you are sourcing for a single large project or setting up an ongoing supply partnership, contact our team through the wholesale inquiries form and we will provide pricing and availability based on your requirements
Not Sure Which Tile is Right for You?
